At the age of 15 my first teacher was Sifu Donna Smith, who was running a school for Grandmaster Phillip Starr's Yi LI Chuan system. Which taught Hsing Yi Chuan, Tai Chi Chuan, and Baqua Chang. I studied with her until 1989, when I joined the United States Air Force. I would train with whoever I could find from 1989-1994, in 1994 I came to Okinawa the first time and trained at the USO in Kung Fu as well for a short period and then went to Florida where I met GM Lawrence Day. I initially started training under Joey Parks and then was taken on by GM Day. In Late 1997 I received my Sho Dan from GM Day and have been with him ever since. In 2000 I found myself once again stationed overseas at Kunsan AB Korea. There I started a small school through the gym teaching Kung Fu and Tai Chi Chuan. After a year there I Moved again to Kadena AB, Okinawa Japan. I immediately opened another school through the Base Gym and am now teaching 3 Kung Fu classes and 4 Tai Chi Classes per week. I have taught Seminars for Soke Don Madden and have trained several International Gold and Silver medalists who have won by performing my Yang Family Tai Chi Broadsword Form. In May 2005 I was awarded Master ranking in Black Dragon Association (BDA) Kung Fu and Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan. On Nov 12th 2005 I went to Pittsburgh, PA, and was inducted into the Eastern U.S.A. Int'l Martial Arts Association (E.U.S.A.I.M.A.A) Hall of Fame for Dedication to the Martial Arts. I have given several seminars, to include seminars on Dim Mak, Tai Chi Chuan, and numerous Kung Fu seminars.
